This module introduces the skill-set that is required to get to grips with such systems. It teaches students how to reverse-engineer and appraise complex, unwieldy systems by implementing source code and execution analysis techniques. It also presents a range of strategies that can be used to adapt and reengineer such systems to improve their quality and viability. Each block develops mathematical concepts and techniques that are of foundational importance to computing. The intention is to enthuse about these topics, to demonstrate why they are important to us, to lay the foundations of their knowledge and prepare students for future computing courses. It is not expected that the course will cover ALL of the maths that is needed later either in terms of depth or scope.

In addition, they may develop advanced control and coordination mechanisms for robots, or understand the ethical impacts of AI, mitigating risks and ethical harms arising from the deployment of AI. You will tackle issues by applying algorithms to data, get to grips with debugging, designing and running experiments, and understand the complexities of the practical application of these skills. Typical UPC students will be high achievers in a 12-year school system which does not meet the standard required for direct entry to UCL. Students on this programme develop a broad range of technical skills and will study a number of topics related to information systems. This MSc programme lies within an area of growing technological change and provides advanced skills and knowledge. Students who are eligible and successfully complete a Pathways to Birmingham programme will receive special consideration from admissions tutors and an alternative offer (typically two grades below the standard offer).
Degrees taught solely in English from non-majority English speaking countries will be considered on a case by case basis. Learn more about sponsorships, scholarships and loans for students applying from outside of the UK. If you’re a UK student, you may be eligible for a Government Postgraduate Master’s Loan, which you can use to help with course fees and living costs. University of Portsmouth graduates may receive a 20% alumni tuition fee discount. Library staff are available in person or by email, phone or online chat to help you make the most of the University’s library resources. You can also request one-to-one appointments and get support from a librarian who specialises in your subject area.

Is AI engineer the future?
The Future of AI Engineering
AI Engineers will continue to play a critical role in developing innovative AI solutions to address complex challenges and opportunities in fields ranging from healthcare and finance to climate science and space exploration.
You will study advanced programming and software engineering as the basis for the artificial intelligence theme. In addition you will study power engineering and electromagnetic compatibility which are essential for any robotic system. You will further develop your skills in mathematics, dynamics and electronics. You will also study key skills in digital and analogue electronics, systems theory, embedded https://www.metadialog.com/ processor, programming, and electromagnetism and power electronics. These courses will prepare you for the interdisciplinary studies that form the Honours years curriculum. The job opportunities for the graduates of BSc Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence are immensely broad because they can work both in roles concerning software development as well as artificial intelligence and data science.
Study abroad
We’ve a thriving international community with students coming here to study from over 140 countries across the world. Find out all you need to know about studying in Glasgow at Strathclyde and hear from students about their experiences. This module focuses on implementing AI algorithms and building autonomous systems.
Our online Learning Well mini-course will help you plan for managing the challenges of learning and student life, so you can fulfil your potential and have a great student experience. You’ll be joining over 5,000 international students from more than 150 countries who are studying with us. It helps you make sense of all the information out there by linking to other quality resources and explaining what can be found where. It also allows you to search for and compare information and data for individual undergraduate courses across the UK. Discover Uni is the official, authoritative source of information and guidance on higher education in the UK.
If you’re interested in studying to become a machine learning engineer and you have a relevant undergraduate degree, search postgraduate courses in machine learning. It’s possible to enter the profession without a degree, provided you have the necessary skills and undertake a relevant course. If you have experience artificial intelligence engineer degree in data or statistical analysis, you can take a course on machine learning engineering with Udacity. This module extends the students’ knowledge and skills in object-oriented application programming by a treatment of further Java language principles and of important Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
- Alternatively students who have also taken SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) and AP (Advanced Placement) tests will be considered for admission to Bachelor degree programmes.
- During your Foundation Year, you will undertake modules to enable you to enhance your academic skills and equip you with the tools you’ll need to study with confidence.
- Provide understanding of the algorithms which underpin behavioural synthesis including scheduling, allocation and binding.
Build on your software design and development skills gained in earlier modules so you can securely develop, deploy, and retire software using platforms such as Azure and AWS. Build on your experience of agile development, effective teamwork, communication and applying your learnings to a real-world project. You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of computing and AI and the ways in which computers work and algorithms are developed. You’ll explore some of the current engineering, industrial and commercial applications of AI and use contemporary research to help you identify gaps in the market and develop innovative solutions. Our courses are designed to challenge you and prepare you for a career in industry, commerce, research, teaching or management.
If you do not meet the IELTS requirement, you can take a University of Bradford pre-sessional English course. For further information on English Language requirements please see the dedicated international entry requirements page.
